The Free ID Photo Tool is useful when you already have a portrait and need a neat sheet of small photos for resumes, job or school applications, exams, employee badges, student cards, or other non-official everyday uses. It is not recommended for passport, visa, immigration, or national ID submissions, those should follow the latest rules from the issuing authority.

Who this guide is for

Reader
People who need repeated small photos for resumes, school forms, exam registration, staff badges, student cards, or print shop preparation.

Learn how to arrange ID-style photos on one printable sheet using the Free ID Photo Tool.

The guide follows the actual controls in the tool: local upload, photo size, zoom, position, paper selection, automatic copy count, and JPG download.

Upload or choose a clear portrait

Open /free-id-photo-tool and use Upload Local Image to add a PNG, JPG, or WebP portrait from your device. Pick a straight, clear image where the face is visible and not heavily filtered. The tool shows the selected photo in the Source Photo area before you start adjusting the export.

Choose the photo size before adjusting the crop

In Export Settings, select the size that matches your everyday use case, such as China 1 inch, China 2 inch, United States 2 x 2 inch, EU / Schengen 35 x 45 mm, Japan common, or another available preset. The preview updates with the exact pixel size at the tool DPI, so choose the size first and then fine-tune the face position.

Use zoom and position controls to frame the face

Use Zoom, Horizontal Position, and Vertical Position to place the head and shoulders cleanly inside the crop. Keep the face centered, leave enough space around the head, and avoid pushing the chin or hair too close to the edge. Download Single JPG if you only need one finished image.

Create a printable sheet

In Print Layout, choose the paper size, such as 4 x 6 inch, 5 x 7 inch, A4, Letter, or another preset. The tool calculates how many copies fit on the sheet, centered with 5 mm margins and 3 mm gaps. If the selected photo size does not fit, choose a larger paper size or a smaller photo preset, then download the Print Sheet JPG.

Quality checks

Face position

The face should be centered and readable at the final small size.

Paper fit

Check the copy count message before downloading the sheet.

Official use

Use official authority rules for passports, visas, national IDs, and immigration photos.

Avoid

  • Do not use blurry or filtered portraits.
  • Do not assume every preset meets a current government requirement.
  • Do not print before checking the selected paper size.
